Session Planning

How should I prepare my home?

For optimal results, your home should be staged and prepped prior to the session. Staging may include cleaning out excess storage, minor interior upgrades, furniture rearranging and de-cluttering, landscape touch-ups, and fresh decor items. In addition to proper staging under the guidance of your agent, there are a few preparatory tasks that will help with the success of our shoot.  First, simple things like removing appliances from the counter, hiding personal items (remotes, phones, family photos, etc.) from tables, and putting away hygiene and/or beauty products from bathrooms and bedrooms are all helpful.  Second, for the exterior of the property it is helpful if the yard is cleaned up and neatly landscaped as appropriate, trashcans and unnecessary items are kept in the garage or out of view, and cars are not in the driveway nor parked in front of the property. Finally, for lighting and composition, it is best if all blinds are up, shades or drapes are open, and all lights are on.  I can assist with these tasks upon arrival and throughout the sessions as deemed necessary. Feel free to contact me for more information on home staging.
